Canadian goalkeeper James Pantemis was honoured Thursday for his acrobatic save at the Toulon Tournament in June
The 21-year-old from Kirkland, who plays for the Montreal Impact, earned the 2018 Allstate Canadian National Teams Good Hands Award.
His save came in the 41st minute with Canada leading Japan 1-0 at the youth tournament in France. He managed to tip Ayase Ueda’s hard-hit shot from a sharp angle over the bar and Canada went on to earn a draw en route to a sixth place finish at the event.
The award was decided by an online fan vote from November 20 to December 2.
